Tiring weekend...

I have been troubled by a stomach upset since Sat afternoon. Feeling rather weak physically but warm at heart as hubby's been really sweet though I have been throwing a little bit more tantrums than usual. He gave me tummy rubs when I whined in pain. Gave me hugs and pat me to sleep while watching TV at night. Bring me water even when I growled at him for not remembering to do so when he took hiss drinks, heehee. Felt really loved :D

Been sleeping alot for the last 2 days to recuperate the lost sleep and energy spent at work. It has been both mentally and physically exhausting week...really need more motivation and an energised physique to face the week ahead, or rather at least till the next big break at Chinese New Year.

Thought of the day:
Laugh when you can, apologize when you should, and let go of what you can't change. Kiss slowly, play hard, forgive quickly, take chances, give everything and have no regrets. Life's too short to be anything…but happy.

Got back from my two weeks holiday in States with sweetheart. It was lovely to be spending time with him and getting closer to each other. We had so little time together since it's a LDR. The only thing was that it was a funny winter and it dint snow! So we couldnt have a white christmas and sweetheart couldnt bring me skiing. We had a simple christmas dinner in A's room and just spend a quiet christmas unwrapping each other's presents and watching tv. haha. I think it dint matter what we do now that we're together physically. :)
After christmas, we went to New Jersey, New York City and Washington DC. Enjoyed myself! It was all new refreshing and nice. Washington DC is especially beautiful, mostly low rise buildings, many historic buildings. And clean too. Stayed in Buffalo the rest of my trip, just hanging around with A's frens and enjoying each other's company. We went Toronto to meet Edward and June too. Had a great time. We around hunting for Coach bags too, requests of the gals. A was very nice and drove me at least 5 times to different places to look for the bags cos we couldnt seem to find the models tat the gals wanted.

Busy week...

It's been an extremely tiring week for me...meetings the whole day...
even on my birthday, I had to work till 7pm...

it's was pretty uneventful, given that I had hit the Big "3-0" this year. Din feel anything except more challenges ahead :S

Had a nice little dinner with hubby at Crab Shack, recommended by Makan King. Felt it was only so-so, over-rated I guess. The crabs weren't as fantastic as it seemed.

I was rather disappointed when we were on our way home, I was expecting something more from hubby. Even as we reached home, I secretly wished that he had planned a little surprise. Which he did : ) he bought a little cake and sang the birthday song for me in the toilet hahaha...while I was removing my makeup :P it was sweet of him tho it was a copied idea from me for his birthday ;)

Had received lots of well-wishes from frens, am quite surprised to receive birthday wishes from those whom I least expected to remember, a pleasant surprise indeed. Last but not least, a good friend of mine gave me one of the most memorable gift for this year. Instead of a real gift, he made up for it with a sweet, thoughful action. It was pleasantly surprising indeed...

Resolution for 2007

never gave this much thought all these years...basically I am a happy-go-lucky person. Just take things, good or bad as it comes/falls upon me :) If good, be happy. If bad, cry abit and moved on...very Ah Q spirit I think.

I wonder if its time that I seriously start thinking abt the year ahead. I am a poor planner person, hate to think too much cos' usually things dont happen anyway. Lame excuse, I guess...I know all the necessary skills it takes to execute it just plain laziness... :S

I learnt from somewhere that we should start from smaller things first or break the big plans into smaller goals and achieve in stages...

How to be more disciplined in planning ahead?

till next time...heehee

How I celebrated my New Year

This year is rather special, I celebrated new year on the sea :) . Darling and I drove to Msia to a Kelong off Sibu Islands. Initially we were worried that there wld still be floods at Kota Tinggi, luckily the water subsided as claimed by the papers.

3 days on the kelong, doing nothing but eat, sleep, fish, laze around...the tranquility of the place made me felt that days seemed longer than it was in the cities. The breeze blowing in the face, numbing every part of the body. I relished the simple pleasure of casual chitchats with the fishing kakis. Not forgetting the adraline rush of having a fish hooked up when minutes went by.

Lessons can be learnt too: sometimes I was not patient enough or maybe my skills was not good enough to ensure that the fish really took the bite, halfway thru winding the reel, some of the biggest fish managed to struggle off the hook. Haiz, cld feel a sense of disappointment. But quickly I recovered and drop the hook for another catch. The second time round, I made sure that I paid enough attention to the fish taking the bite and waited long enough before hookup again. Most of the time, I am rewarded with another slightly smaller catch if not a bigger fish again...thus, we should never be dishearten whenever we met with obstacles or failed in our task, learnt the lessons and get back into it, u wll never know what you will get, it cld be even better that what you have lost.

Lazing around in an area of not more than 5000sqft might seem boring to most of us. But it is a good time to rest, reflect on the past year and decide whats going forward in the year ahead.

Xmas Tom Yam Goong...

Celebrated Christmas at a Thai Disco that Daniel introduced weeks ago with darling.
We were offered cans of snow spray at the entrance at 3 for $10. Was quite puzzled when the bouncers mentioned you better get some else u will lose out.
We took a table beside a group of regulars, guys most of them. They kept playing with the snow sprays and got some onto us and they kept apologising and even offerred a can to us. One even reminded us to cover up our drinks lest the snow gets into the drinks...
At the stroke of 12 midnight, everyone went into a snow attack frenzy...
I even kenna some in my eyes by the guys next to us...angry :P so I retaliated haha
After that, shortly, my fav boy started to perform. Really entertaining...they dance and sing in various languages.
It was an unique way of celebrating Xmas this year :D

Singing, drinking at 4pm of a friday ;)

We had half day off for Xmas on friday. The gang, Andy, Penny, Terina, Eunica, Wendy, Zann n myself we went to K Box for a karaoke session. I tot it was just singing but how naive I was. Penny actually brought along the small bottles of whiskies, volka, etc that she bought from LA previously. We din want to spend $ on the drinks at Kbox so they went to Giant to bought the mixers, the little corner of the room became our make-shift pantry.

At 3pm, they were playing games and drinking. By 4, almost all of us were high. At 5, we were dancing to the techno remix number, requested by yours truly :P Aint i good at creating a fun atmosphere at KTVs heeeee.....

The session ended at 6pm, with all of us walking goggy out of the place. Had to hang out at Mac for a sobering session with the gals.

I had a 2nd session with my frens who brought me to a Thai disco at Golden Mile Complex. Seemed pretty exclusive, even had the stamp at the entrance but no cover charge, which made me wonder what the stamp at my hand is for haha.

Plenty of local guys and Thai ladies...pretty ones indeed. The singers, esp the 2 males were really cute with their singing and dancing, really entertaining..wld love to go back again.

Season of love and sharing

Finally managed complete my xmas shopping on time earlier this week. It was pretty tiring, as I had to stay up to wrap all the presents myself, cant bear to be queuing up at the shopping centers for gift wrapping service, damn long queues man....

Been feeling really tired due to lack of sleep. Even my old injury acted up on me again, luckily darling gave me a good massage one of the nights, only then did I had a good sleep last 2 days. Feeling slightly rejuvenated today.

Went for the movie, The Curse of the Golden Flower by Gong Li and Chow Yun Fatt. Thumbs Up! The scenes were overwhelming...the whole sea of golden flowers (which is actually chrysanthemums symbol for warding away evil, oso a secret code for the coup by the Queen), the troops of soldiers and palace ladies...whew! No wonder its deemed one of the greatest production by Zhang YiMou.

However, I think some audience like the auntie sitting next to me catch no ball, she even laughed at the most solemn moment and the tragic ending...hahaha...its not just a popcorn movie but rather u've got to watch how the actors and actresses give a plot an awesome new feel (plot was originally a stageplay of a family feud). It was a splendid performance by the lead actor and actress, both are my favorites :) The sets were beautiful created, full of gold ornaments and the palaces made of liu li, a kind of precious crystal. Everything was intricate and delicately made...really took my breath away...

Highly recommended

Xmas Party

I had one of the most memorable Xmas party in office yesterday; it lasted from 12 - 3pm, the longest office party we ever had. THe organisers, Eunica, Zann and gang were superb, not only did they arrange for yummy food, the plain dull pantry was completely transformed into a chic yet warmly corner full of festive spirit, thus the given name, The Cozy Corner.

We had games, gift exchange and even xmas carolling, such a refreshing change indeed. We had the guest guitarist, Spencer, Daisy's fren. He's really good, strong powerful voice indeed, put us to shame when we all sang, his voice overwhelmed ours effortlessly :P

Rainy day...

It was such a wet day yesterday. Rained throughout from morning till night. It only stopped or drizzle for brief moments like when I went downstairs to get my lunch at about 1pm and at night when we went out for dinner at 8pm.

Darling went sea fishing with the guys, the morning part was great almost everyone hooked up a fish or 2. However, when the rain started, all the fish went away too, hiding from the rain just like humans hahaha. So he slept throughout the trip as well.

Not too bad to be lazing at home for such a gloomy wet day. Did my household chores, iron all the clothes that need to be ironed (usu I wld realised that these were too crumpled to be worn :) Watch the repeat of Star Awards at the same time and checking mails as well. Realised it was too late to book for any getaways around this region, sianz...everywhere is fully booked. Think just gonna settle for a kelong trip liao. Nevertheless, its been a long time since I went to a kelong, looking forward to it : )

Bro got my CD liao, at least 1 thing off the Xmas list. Now gotto hunt for gifts for the rest. Gives me headache, just thinking about the crowd in town. Come to think of it, I am almost always in a last minute rush for xmas shopping. Gotto change this bad habit next year
