I was on leave over the weekend.. got it all to myself.. rare.. i do enjoy the time off.
Went to the beach yday. Frank and i were supposed to go sailing but all sorts of situations came up. First it rains, pouring heavily.. then the rain stopped after lunch and the sun came out. We went to the beach happily only to discover tat we cant rent the sailboats cos we both do not have our proficiency cards. Anyway, we both took sailing like donkey years ago!... the card is lost somewhere. So we cant do any sailing UNTIL we get re-assessed and get new cards from some S'pore Sailing Federation. Wat a disappointment it was. And the beach and water was so nice too!

Discovered a joint on the beach. It was closed, apparently it only opens in evenings. But it looks good, like a cafe and wine kinda thing... Seems like a good place to go in the evenings.. I wil check it out. Tat is why i didnt say which beach i went to BTW... Becos i dun wana share the place and the tranquility! haha =P


Today i did something VERY stupid... I told "someone" tat i wana go and look for him... ... on my own... ... His reply?... Nothing... silence.... :S
I wonder if this changes anything... bet us (our friendship) and in my life...

LONG HU MEN

Yday Ivy was drunk from too much red wine.. i had to send her home.. hehe.. :P

Had an interesting day today. Met up with a net fren, Aten (on right), for coffee, movie and dinner. As it is the first time we're meeting, i dint know wat to expect.. whether it will be boring or awkward silence or watever. But surprising, we clicked rather well! He seems a reali nice family guy, very protective of his sister n family, showed me their pics. But workaholic and neat freak. hehe

In case u're wondering.. no i dun meet net frens easily.. i tend to be skeptical n cautious abt tis kinda thing.. Have only met two net frens so far cos i find them alrite. In fact, Aten and i stayed in contact as net frens for 1 year, 3 mths before we meet up. Is tat amazing in tiny S'pore? The fact tat he dint jus disappear from contact after awhile says alot ya? Anyway, Aten is reali nice.

Oh, the movie we went to watch was LONG HU MEN. It's a great movie! I like it! The special effects and fighting scenes and fighting stances were all very good, exciting. Of cos plus the fact that i like Zhen Zi Dan (Donnie Yen) and Xie Ting Feng (Nicholas Tze)! Donnie Yen is so manly! So handsome. And Nichlas Tze is handsome too. Some say he looks ah beng, but he is a handsome ah beng mah. heehee

Was chatting with a msn fren. Tis young man learns Taiji. Interesting. :)
He says it's for health. haha.. i learned chinese martial arts when i was young.. still find it a graceful form of sport and art. I'm intending to take up Akido. For fun, interest. Will tell u the story when i do. :)

NDP 2006

The Musical Firework@ National Stadium...












Today, went to watch the Parade Preview at Kallang stadium. There was so much hoo-ha about being the last time for the NDP to be held at the stadium...however, there isn't anything that great this time round. Except there are some "first times" like the Red Lions landing on the target pad in the middle of the field, Musical fireworks - quite interesting, the comperes doing a flying fox down to the field from the top of the stadium, etc etc...

Frankly speaking, felt a little bit disappointed, I guess maybe its the Preview thus there isn't much atmosphere/spirits in the air...

I am just surfing thru my Friendster's profile and saw this guy who posted quite a meaningful message. I sincerely shared the same sentiments...tho sometimes it gets pretty risky. Frens always scolded me for being too trusting or trusting people too much. Thus I always tot that I am really too gullible to open myself up to friends or people I knew not too long, but it seemed to me that so long if I am being sincere, I wld get the same treatment in return...

Indeed, I did made some good frens this way altho some did not turn out very well too...

Nevertheless, this is a personal motto...never gonna change...

Like-minded souls in the midst of a giant rat race... ...

I'm DELIGHTED recently! I have met more and more frens and ppl who are like-minded souls to myself! Ppl who are not ALL about engaging in the rat race, who care about QUALITY of life, free time, freedom. Ppl who RESPECT others' choices and lifestyles and dun make COMPARISONS or JUDGE u for it.

See, when WE talk about quality of life, it's not about being able to go on holidays or trips, or being able to take up golf or go to the golf courses or country clubs, or driving a BMW, or staying in a condo or a big house. It's about doing wat we want to do for ourselves, enjoying the process of doing it, about have time, free time to LEAD the life we want.

To so many ppl, life is jus an endless pursuit of monetary gains and material comforts. They strive for bigger cars, bigger houses, fatter salaries, more luxurious holidays... Golf can be a passion but it's also a high class sport, a mark of their status... As "someone" puts it.. it's all so superficial. No wonder i am sick of ppl asking me "Isn't it a waste of ur paper for u to be in ur job?".. "How long can u be in tis job?"... "How much can u earn?" ... "If u're in some other job/ industry, how much can u earn eventually?"... "U shd be practical.." ... "Look for better bf.. " ...etc etc. Sure, most times ppl mean well. But sometimes they can sound mean doing it..

It's no wonder tat i'm so delighted to find more and more of like-minded souls who are outside of such thinking! :)

Frank and Raymond are some of them. Altho i knew Frank for quite long, only recently did we hang out together and it's nice to find tat he has a set of different thinking from the guys. He told me not to be brainwashed by wat others said to me. Cheers to tat! :)

Another person is "someone" i 'found' again. I find tat we have similar thinking.. dint tell him tat tho.. still shy.. hehe :)
I wish him all the best and may he never be bogged down by society's pressures again ever.

luckily my customer is so sweet to drive me back all the way from JB to my house...abit pai sei but really appreciate it cos' beri tired liao...

nevertheless, still gonna party tonight, enjoying my well deserved break for the long weekend...

plus the NDP Preview coming up on Saturday so excited...the last time the NDP is gonna be held at the National Stadium...am still stuck wif 2 tixs...I wonder who should I call along...

Ya, i'm still here today... my beautiful Bali trip is cancelled!!! WahhhWahhhh.... sob sob...
My fren has urgent biz and couldn't make it last min.. so we have to cancel our trip.. and forfeit our air tickets and hotel. No choice.. Sigh.. :(

Ok, saw something very lame in my msn today... a msn aquaintance is openly asking for ppl to lend him money on his catchline! It goes like: "Anybody can borrow money... i pay back once... ...". Now tat's lame. U may put such request to good frens or relatives, NOT on msn.

Went to a Hennesy event at Zouk, Velvet yday. Proved once again tat i cant drink... was tipsy after one glass! Puked in the toilet twice. Either i'm a reali lousy drinker (which i am) or cant drink Hennesy.. i think it's both..

Finally......

I hope I am not too late to post :P It's been a crazy week at work.

Things are getting pretty exciting at this point of my life, getting to know more ppl from all walks of life and opening up to greater challenges at work. If I can describe it, it wld be like an exhilarating roller coaster ride, full of ups and downs at different time of the day....

Tomorrow I will be travelling to Malaysia, JB, to perform an inspection for the customer. First time meeting the customer, a mixture of feelings, excited yet worried. But I believe it will be a good experience.

But I hope to be back in Singapore by evening time .

Today I was walking in Parkway when a well-mannered guy stopped me and asked if I’m interested to model for his company which is doing photography. I was abit surprised of cos. Being typical Singaporean, I was immediately doubtful of the nature of his company and his offer and thus i declined on the spot. Dun get me wrong, the guy was really gentlemanly, he didn’t pester me or anything. But I’m flattered that someone thinks I’m tall enough and pretty enough to model for them or their company. Gives me a good feeling, make my day. :)

Met my youngest brother and my aunt for lunch today.
The other day, I had a teeny argument with my mom, was in lousy mood and he sent me the sweetest sms. He said:

Dun let the little things in life hold u back.. it’s jus a small hurdle u have to overcome.. Jia U

Isn’t tat sweet? I still kept the sms in my hp and I’ve used it to spur my older brother since. :)

And i permed my hair recently. When he saw me back from the hairstylist's the other day.. he went: "wah! My sister looks like superstar! Ya zhou xiao tian hou! Ya zhou xiao tian hou! (Asia's little pop queen) Anyone tell u tat?" haaahaaa he's so cute rite.

Anyway, we went for lunch and my youngest bother decided to queue for a fish soup stall simply becos it has a long queue in front of it. Hahaha
He was still queueing when aunt and me had finished our food! Finally, the fish soup cost him $10 and I tot it was "so so" only… hahaha

Two more days to holiday!... Counting... :)

Went to Devils with Ivy last Fri. The pictures turn out rather well! Ahem... of cos la, the subjects were two pretty gals wor... hahahaha ;p

Me (on left) and Ivy. The chick behind us is one of the dancers cum promoters there. She was dancing on the bartop. My head is blocking her tummy in the picture. =P

We had some amusement too. A fat woman was dancing on the bartop and shaking her ass off. She was even jumping up and down on the bartop during one song. The bartender had to stop her for fear that the bartop collaspe. haha

Think it's not legal of me to put her picture here without her consent eh? Well, i dun wan my readers to be grossed out anyway. :)

Two more days before i embark on a holiday to the exotic island of Bali. :O

Never been there before... always heard about it.. so excited.. Abit worried tho.. my mom nags at why i'm travelling in the lunar seventh month (chi yue).

But i'm more worried about terrorism attacks... :(

Well, Hope that everything will be fine and safe and i can have a good holiday and come home safe and sound. Hmmm.. guess it's all fated..

Y i wana start a blog....

Why do i wana start a blog?... Nah... Not becos i fell out of love OR have a failed relationship OR becos i'm too stressed etc etc... Although i've been through it all.. failed relationships, betrayal, OTHERS' bad debts!!, moved out of house becos not enough rooms... etc. Yap, life has its ups and downs.. more downs than ups most times.. BUT we get over the hurdles.. and we move on.. or at least we keep trying.. same here.

So, y do i wana start a blog...

Actually i can think of a ton of reasons....

First and foremost,

1)I'm just acting on whim. Have been doing that ALOT lately.(Me n Ivy went to "track down" an old primary schoolmate just on whim! haha. Will tell tat story another time.)

Then there are other reasons:

2)For fun, laughter, tears and joy.

3)Life is too short to miss out on someone, some fun, some ventures, some plans... Do wat u wana do. Leave no room for regret.

4)Tot i'll be the "pioneer" and come out with a "double-blog"... double the authors, double the fun, double the power, double the stories... (i'm kinda proud of my idea... pls tell me we're the first!!.. haha.. Of cos the first person tat comes to my mind as co-author is Ivy since she's my best gal pal and MOST REGULAR partner in crime! hahaa)

5)To share with my frens, to find long-lost frens and to make new ones.
