last weekend...

Went to watch the movie "Talladega Nights, The Ballad with Ricky Bobby" on Fri, my fren and I were terribly late for the show and had to park all the way at PS and walked back to the Cathay. Worst still there was a long queue at the box office. Perhaps its fortunate, cos' I din really missed much cos' the show sucks...totally senseless and the jokes were lame. the plot was so cliche...talented racer fell from heaven, sexy beautiful wife left him for best friend/dumb sidekick, gay French import contender engaged by the boss to replace him, racetrack kingdom shakened by accident, left the lead torn and discouraged. Long-lost dad used weird tactics attempting to revive the son's spirit. 2 bratty sons that sprouted rude remarks even at granddad. Nerdy girl attempt to inspire with great speech...in the end, finished the race by running against the competitor...fainted!!?? what kind of plot is that?? One of the worst movies that I watched this year.

I actually met a old classmate working at one of the sportstore at the Cathay, such coincidence.

After movie, we went to Tung Shui for supper, the food was nice.

On Sat, I met up with an ex-colleague for coffee@TCC, it was my 1st time there, not too bad. Quite a nice place to hang out in the afternoon.

It was a pretty relaxing weekend...checked out new places like a new jazz band at TP, will most likely to go back again. Good music and nice ambience , Old English kinda of decor...every nook and corner gave little surprises. they had 3 levels, 1st level - live band, 2nd - chill out, 3rd - karaoke...very interesting concept and good variety but it's a pity they had hostesses tho, mainly for the men ;)
