Tired...

Its been pretty hectic these few days. 2006 is coming to an end so many loose ends to tight up; to prepare for the year ahead.

Sat through a "complaint" session with the Finance for 2 hours in the morning, totally drained me out :( It left me half a day to catch up on the day's work. Come late afternoon, had to tied up the communication loop between the 2 depts with issues.

ONly managed to catch a breather after 7pm. And now waiting for my cab to bring me home for dinner.

In the midst of all the talking, rushing and confusion, I still managed to squeeze in numerous sms exchanges with a fren, talking abt the past. It was such a mixed of emotions, gladness and a tinny-winny tinge of regret. Regret is rather a strong word, more of a pity kind of feeling. There were so many misunderstandings, feelings and emotions that we did not tell each other.

Haiz....things had evolved in a way that there is no turning back, all we can say is that it could or might have been.....if we had revealed how we felt then.

Happy feet

Watched the movie Happy Feet last Sat with my darling. Not quite what I had expected, it turned out to be a movie that both adults and kids can enjoy watching as it teaches about the interference of human at the Arctic continent. The dialogues and characters are really witty and funny, that made the audience laughed quite a fair bit. Songs were nice too, they had remixes of oldies and hits from the top 40s as well. All "performed" by the penguines heehee....

We went to Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao at the fountain of wealth for dinner. Pretty disappointing on the food cos' it doesnt taste as good as they claimed to be. Think I will just stick to the outlet at Chinatown. The xiao long bao there is the best so far that I had ever tasted. Thin succulent dumpling skin that wraps the minced meat and the meat juices that are so sweet. Once u bite into it, the juice flows and the meat practically dissolves in yr mouth. Sigh...so blissfully tasty :)

After movie, we dropped by Ritz Carlton, Chihuly lounge to chill out. That was my 2nd time there. The resident band, Louis Soliano Trio, was having a break. One of them actually recognised me and wave hi even though we have only met once, surprised :) Louis, on the drums, sang a few jazz numbers, much to my surprise cos I din expect anyone from the band to sing heehee, in fact he's really good. Melvin on piano sang a song or 2 as well. It was really relaxed and cosy nite, one of the customers even went up to play on the congo drums, I believed he must be a player himself, very good indeed.

Before we left for the nite, Louis and Bong came over for a short chat. Funnily, Louis actually cant rem when he met me and he was surprised that I was so tall that night. Well my trick is my heels haha...he's such an endearing character, like my uncle. Bong was "complaining" about his gig at Vivocity's opening with CapitalLand, said they were rubbish, felt that he's like the prostitutes working for them, weird sense of humor hahaha. Din managed to talk to Mel cos it was pretty late and he's engaged in their small talks with other customers.

Wld loved to hang out there more often as the trio is really smooth and experienced. Prefers lounge music these days. Except that the drinks and the miscellaneous like the snacks are quite pricey :(

Love Fest@ Zouk...failure....

There was a preview event for Sexpo at Zouk yesterday whereby it was co-organised by Frank. It's called the Love Fest and they featured DJ Portia Surreal who was famously known for spinning Naked :P

Despite the fact that it rained heavily earlier in the afternoon, Serene and I happily make our way there after a yummy hot meal of porridge at Havelock Road. To our surprise or rather disappointment, there was not much action. Just the event organisers and a couple of mascots were at the entrance.

Serene's bouncer fren, David called when he was having dinner at Corpthorn Hotel besides Zouk, so we decided to go over to have a chat while waiting to see if the crowd will come in later. David is a middle-aged well-built gentleman, quite nice and friendly. We actually knew him way way back while we started clubbing. He was a fren of Serene's brother. It was quite interesting to see familiar faces especially at the clubbing scene after such a long break, think abt 10 years....he had since aged quite a lot judging from the white hair that he had, but still a jovial character and it sure meant that we too had grown older, hahaha. :)

We made our way back to Zouk at about 10.30am and sad to say there was still no crowd till 11plus. We hanged around with Brandon and Luke, Frank's partner and had quite a fun time chatting. They shared stories of their "exciting" encounters with Ms singapore and Feng Feifei at the clubs there. There was even a possible case of orgy: 4 men and a woman, except that Brandon was so fedup that he had to provide booze, a place and even condoms hahaha. Actually he was not really looking for such activities except that this particular guy kept repeatedly asking him, " Are u buying me a condom?" when they were at the 7-11 getting the mixers. He decided to fled the scene before anything worst cld happen.

They were so "unfortunte" in the sense that they have not picked up any babes instead.

The performance by DJ Portia came about 12.30, she's pretty sensual and nice to watch spinning in her sexy corset and dancing with her muscular boyfren. I guess her butts is her best assets as compared to the much talked-about exposed boobs. The dancers in the sexy outfits were OK only. There was plenty of phototaking by the various mags and a free flow of sparkling wine that Serene got addicted to hahaha. It was not meant to be free flow but we managed to get Luke to find a stack of coupons ;)

We stayed till about 1plus before deciding to call it a day cos the dancefloor was really pathetic although the DJs were pretty good. I bet they were disappointed too

WWF - World Wrestling Federation...

Last week, happened to talk to a fren about WWF (World Wrestling Federation) and realised that both of us loved to watch wrestling when we were younger. It used to be quite popular on videos in the early 90s.

I was pretty surprised that my fren cld quote all the names like Hulk Hogan who always the Last Man Standing despite being bashed beyond recognition, The Ultimate Warrior who is the Righteous one, King Kong Bundee the fat bouncy one, The Million Dollar Man with a golden cape always adequately dorned with $ signs, The British Bulldogs, The Bushwhackers (that licks each other...eeks), The Undertaker with coffin, Yokozuna, Sumo size managed by Mr Fuji, etc, etc...the list goes on...

Both of us had a fun time mimicking the different characteristics of the wrestlers. I din realise that all those were paid to stage a show till it was featured on TV. This fren of mine is pretty good at mimicking indeed, I laughed, almost till I teared...

My family used to rent video tapes, esp my late grandma who simply loves the matches. She was always asking for new tapes whenever she stayed over. A typical weekend with her wld be: after a delicious meal of mee cooked with vegetables, pork, fishball by mum, we wld curl up in the living room and watch the wrestling matches. Shouting foul whenever Hulk Hogan was sneaked attacked by the bad guys. And hooray whenever the Ultimate Warrior came on screen...
Nowadays, the matches are being shown on TV, not sure why, but it seemed that we have lost the enthusiasm already. Or perhaps we have got other committments to fulfil or stuffs to attend to. Neverthless, it will always be another memorable part of my childhood...

Movida...

Hee hee...we had a fun time posing at the lobby of the Fullerton. Think we are putting what we had learnt during the wedding photoshoot to good use :P This was just an inpromptu idea...think it turned out rather well...

Hubby, myself, Raymond and Annabelle went over to St James Power Station after the dinner last night at Fullerton.Since 3 of them had never been there, we tot of checking it out. But to our "horror" it was terribly packed and the queue was super long.

We decided to check out Movida instead, which turned out to be a smarter choice. They had a 8-pax Cuban band that belted out song after song, full of exciting and invigorating beats that made everyone rushed to the dance floor. It was a sizable yet intimate bar. Movida means "party" in Cuban street slang, the description really fits from what I see last night. Anyone game enough are invited to dance and sing on stage with the band. A really lively and fun ambience.

Am defintely going back there soon...

So sorry...

I am so sorry that my gal pal had decided to resign from the blog. What I had checked out is that alot of other users are having the same problem as well. And I cldn't find any help from the Help Section anywhere, pretty stupid. They dun even have a helpdesk to answer the questions, just expecting ppl to post their qns and other bloggers to help answer, wonder what kind of service do they think they are providing...haiz...

hox 17

Forced to resign from my blog. Bye bye. =(

I've tried for one bloody week and it's either not uploading pics, saying cannot find server, or it cant edit or even post, saying the page is unavailable, either due to net problems or i have to adjust my browser settings. Sometimes it just allows for short post not overly long ones. Dunno why my gal pal has no problems, only me. Maybe my comp or browser reali not compatible with the new beta blog. Watever. Anyway, i'm a computer idiot, i dun think i can fix watever the problem is, be it connection or wat. Anyway, i cant blog anywhere else except at home. Dun wana make myself angry from tis everyday so i have NO choice. I have to resign from my own blog! =(

17th Nov....Part 2

Yesterday was a rest day for me...practically worked 3 days this week ;) Feeling rejuvenated...

Actually was supposed to have an outing yesterday with darling but he's busy with his Nippon customers (Japanese ;P) they are not gg back till sunday. Poor darling had to work on his birthday this year.

Nevertheless, we had a fabulous dinner at The Manhatten Fish Market@PS. The fish was delicious and nicely done, juicy n sumptuous. the veggie and citrus salad were refreshing too. We managed to catch the Bond movie, Casino Royale as well. Well, I wld give it a 3 out of 5 for the plot was too draggy. But as usual 007, played by Daniel Craig appears yummy :P~ Not naked bythe way, but fully dressed, be it in a tux or casual cotten pants, nice butt :) I am actually a butt and chest person. haha

After the movie, darling had to rush back to Co to deal with an emergency cos' his staff was so incompetent #@$#^$% enough to not at least complete 50% of wat they are supposed to do. Darling wld have a hard time answering to his Jepun customers today..jialat...he had to work overnight till 6am this morning..haiz...and now he's at work again...he's gonna be so tired today. And we have a wedding dinner to attend at The Fullerton tonight.

Happy Birthday, my Dear

17th Nov, today is my darling's birthday...we had a mini celebration by ourselves yesterday.

Secretly, I bought a cake and hide in the house to wait for him to come home with dinner. He was expecting that I wld buy a cake but din expect that I wld hide and pop out from the room in the dark hahaha...this is something that I had always wanted to do...finally I had done it ! yeah!

Look at darling's facial expression, he seemed really cute and mischievious, staring at the cake :P this is a durian cake, half of it was still sitting in the fridge. We had mum's cooking and was so full that we cldn't walk. We decided that we shld put our new skates to test, guess where we went. The multi-storey carpark at our block! It was wide and nice for skating...our feet ached from trying to get accustomed to the new skates. But it got better as we skate...we had quite a fun time.

For the past many years, 12 years to be exact :) birthdays were always dinners, parties and gifts. This year, I tot we shld hv something more toned down but sweet and intimate just the 2 of us. This is a refreshing change.

Intoxicated...

Same as my pal, been pretty busy these 2 weeks. I am oso meeting up old frens, thanks to the coincidental meet up that my pal had with Qinghui :)

I hv been really intoxicated these days, with red wine :P Last wed, while hanging out with my fren at one of the neighbourhood pubs at Rail Mail along Bukit Timah, we shared a bottle of red wine, Southern AUstralian, a Carbernet Sauvignon...pretty smooth and full-bodied (getting to know alittle bit about wine finally) heehee.

Last Friday was just hanging out with frens at Velvet after a movie, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Really bloody and gory...couldn't even finished the popcorns eeks! All thanks to my fren, Desmond who specifically wanna watch this show, he even forced me to watch through the disgusiting scenes when I was trying to cover up my eyes haha.

As for last Sat, 3 of us, Serene, Qinghui and myself we finished the bottle of red wine, a nice wine as well...

2 days ago, met up with James, an old fren of 11 years. It was a nice catching up time at WIne Network @ Dempsey. We had a cheese platter, it was a mixture of chedder, blue cheese, pretty pungent and really needs to hv an acquired taste ;) The platter came with celery, carrot sticks, grapes and biscuits, quite a nice combination. We had a bottle of South African Red, Merlot. Not knowing what to order, we asked for a recommendation of full bodied wine but it turned out to be pretty light. Basically we felt that it was OK only, for light drinking.

Been drinking quite a bit of red wine these days, think I am training up for threshold of wine tolerance haha...Gotto tone down a bit before I turned alcoholic :)

Update continued

Last Tuesday, i met an old pri sch mate, Qing Hui, thru work! It was so funny. He was my customer and i dint recognise him at all. Then he said: " You look very familiar. I've seen you somewhere before." and i replied that i'm sure i've not met him before. Then he threw me: "Are you sure? Which pri sch were you from?" !!! hahahaha
I was reali shocked. It was a case of OMG.. wat a small world. Small Singapore la.

We chatted for some time about old days and old frens, schoolmates and promised to meet up soon for drinks for more reminiscing. Told Ivy about it and she was surprised too.

Qing Hui and i did exchanged some mails and sms after tat and we arranged to have drinks on sat nite. Jane and Kailing were supposed to come along too but they couldnt make it at the last min. Ended up with only Ivy (Liting), Qing Hui and me. But we had a nice time. Wine Co was cosy and we had a bottle of nice African wine and chatted thru the nite til 11 plus.

Qing Hui is very different from my impression of him in pri sch. Now, he is a very focused, matured, self-assured and driven man. Practical and calculating (in the economical sense). He also has a kinda humour or dry wit about him. Quite humourous and endearing at times. But the kinda humour and self-assuredness tat could offend ppl easily. Well, tat's my personal opinion la.

We left the place around 11.30pm. Was going to go home after dropping Ivy off at Ritz but Qing Hui is interested in checking out Dragonfly since he has not been there before and he likes live band. So i accompanied him to the place since SY and gang are there. But Qing Hui doesnt like the place and the band and left the place after ten minutes! :S
I stayed for awhile since was already there.

"Busy" week

Had a "busy" week in the sense tat no time to blog about my happenings.. and.. when i wanna blog, found tat my pal had change something and i couldnt log in. Now it's settled.

My update:

The weekend before tis tat's just past, i cooked Nasi Lemak (coconut rice) for my family, with fried chicken wings. My bro's gf said it was delicious. Esp the chicken wings. :D
Glad they enjoyed it. Well, the chicken wings had special marination tat i learned from an elder.

After tat, i had food poisoning on Wed!!! Ate murtabak from a 24hr prata shop along Pasir panjang Road (Take note! Boycott!) on Tues nite for supper and i (and my bro) had food poisoning the next day. Down for two days. :S

90% recovered by Fri and decided to join SY and gang at Velvet since Ivy is going. Celeste came too as her gfs were there. I like the music at Velvet but it wasn't reali SY and gang's cup of tea. So they left for MOS around 2.30am. Ivy and i went over to Zouk to join Celeste and her frens and we stayed til 4am! Tired, but feel quite good. Went to bed and slept well.

Took some pics with Celeste at Zouk, to show A. Celeste is my Uni classmate. She is also my "shun you". Tis gal is a teacher! But she is always asking me to take a cigarette or take a few puffs when she sees me!! haha
Her reasoning: "You dun drink and you dun smoke, wat are you doing here at clubs? So boring. Smoke a bit wun die, you're not addicted smoker, jus social smoking and you wil feel "high" and more fun." hahaha
My sweetheart wants to know who tis "ah shun" is. haha
My sweetheart looked at the photos and say i dun look good with a cirgarette at all. haha
Baby, nobody looks good with a cigarette, of cos. I was jus posing for the camera, i dun reali smoke. Never like the taste or smell of it. :)

Romance and love do not need to change in a relationship; they can grow while embracing future challenges.

I fell sick after Halloween... :S ... Flu, sore throat, cough..
Not been going out since. Had to fly kite on Seng Chee last Thursday.. :P

My honey was worried when i'm sick.. cos i dint online for a day.. called me to check if i'm ok... soo sweet. Love him so much. :)
Did a naughty thing when sick.. went to eat black pepper crab!! Well.. my auntie and uncle and my cousin was in town with his gf.. so.. it was a 'family' dinner.. :P
Honey was concerned (not angry but concerned) when he knew about it.. said i've been a bad bad gal.. :P
Sorry to make honey worried.. have to take better care of myself.. cannot make him worried when he's aready bogged down by work and studies. :(

But miraculously, the sore throat recovered after the black pepper crab.. haha.. even my honey said it was the cure for me.. heehee
Had a good time this few days with my brother and cousin and their gfs, eating around. :P
Time to diet.. :P

Been chatting with my honey quite a bit too.. usually one, two hours each time... today we talked for 3 hours too... sweet happiness.. :)
Reali miss him!! 7 more weeks to go... we're counting down.. :)

We can talk about lots of stuff under the sun... feel so connected... may we be as romantic and loving or even more so as the years pass.. holding hands down the rest of life's path. :)

Inline Skating....really fun...

Managed to complete my Level 1 4th lesson today, tried skating downslope and climbing the stairs on skates, pretty scary, man! Gotto go for some more free lessons next 2 weeks b4 the promo period is over :) but instructor said we can go on to Level 2 liaoz ;) most prob will start level 2 in Dec or Jan next year...my injured ankle did not fail me today, tho I still need to go for checkups soon, just a little sore after the class...worried....

Bought my 1st pair of skates today so...happy : ) somemore couple skates, hubby bought the same model as me, it was highly recommended by my instructor to be a good bargain...i wonder :P anyway, it felt very snug and fit to a tee on my feet, that's gotto be more important than anything else, i guess.

Went to Joo Chiat, My Mum Place for makan. The food was great! San Lao Hor fun and Salted fish fried rice taste superb. Even the most simple dish such as fried onion egg was done home-style and taste yummilicous. We cleaned out the plates to show our appreciation for Mum (the originator) herself who came by our table to ask how we find the food : )

hox 17

All flavors in a night...warm, spicy, cold, sweet, tipsy...

This is one of the unusual saturdays that I have had since a long time. Me & hubby were planning for a nite-out but both din hv any ideas where to go :)

Hubby suggested CheongQing Hotpot at BeachRoad for steamboat buffet. The queue was really long, and they had 3 outlets along the same road !! We had to wait for 30mins before we got a table, it was a bit disorganised. Although it's pretty warm but the delicious soup made up for it. I chose the least spicy broth + normal chicken broth, hubby really cldn't take spicy stuffs, he kept choking haiz...tsk tsk...and sweating..luckily the thoughful owner put a tub of tissue on every table ;) The food is cheap and fresh, great for family/group outings. The whole street was bustling with activities, parking lots were full, hungry crowds milling around deciding what to eat. Alot of steamboat eateries and desserts shops sprung up over the last 2 years. We took a walk along both sides of the street leading to Bugis Junction, and spotted several nice cosy restaurants that we planned to check out the next time around.

After dinner we went over to Shaw Towers to visit Lawrence's ice-cream shop. We tried the new flavor wasabi-lime and black sesame. Wasabi-lime is pretty refreshing but this is an acquired taste haha, black sesame had full flavor yet not too sweet, NICE! We each had 2 flavors, wasabi lime, dark chocolate, pink guava and lavender..Lavender is yummy!! They self made all the ice-creams and ensure that it's low in sugar content. There are different flavors every month, heaven for ice cream lovers. Check it out http://patkoh.multiply.com/journal/item/45

By then, my tummy was almost exploding, had too much and too varied kinds of food at 1 go...I was too greedy :P

I decided that we shld not go back too early and went to Tanjong Pagar to roam around. Had wanted to bring hubby to Mahoney pub for some nice jazz music but haiz, it had closed down!! Must find out where the band goes..And there was a Ah Pek lurking in front of the pub recommending us to check out his band at another pub along the same stretch, heehee. We took a look but thought that the music was too loud for chilling out. Feeling bored, we tot of going home already but we drove by The Scarlet Hotel. We ventured in for a drink at the lounge as it seemed rather quiet for a Sat night.

We had a great time chilling out, it's been quite sometime that we hang out together, chitchat. So sweet to just laze around on the comfy couches and it was really funny esp when hubby shared some of the guys' jokes. Luckily there was not much ppl around else they wld hv shooed us out for making so much noise ;P The drinks were pretty reasonable and they had promo for martinis, I had chrysanthemum and Lychee martinis, delicious :P~

Haiz...sprained my ankle again. This time is the left ankle, worst of all the injury of my right ankle acted up again last night due to the sudden drop of temperature. If I shld go to the sen-sei (chinese doc) for treatment, after he treated 1 side, he sure faint if i tell him that another leg has the same problem too. Hubby cracked a stupid but funny joke, imagine the doc saying:"luckily u r not a sotong, else 8 legs, i will be very busy liao" hahaha! This cheered me up despite the annoying, dull pain in both of my ankles...

Hope that i can recover in time for my skating lesson this Sat. I will be taking the last lesson of level 1, that is striding correctly and increasing speed. My butt and legs were sore after last week's lesson as we were learning the various turns and coach brought us for some leisure skating around EC park. It's a conscious effort to maintain the correct posture while skating to ensure max workout on the butts and thighs. But coach was very encouraging, telling me that I am doing it the right way even though the speed is slow. It is important to get it right at the initial stage else the bad habits really stays :)

So far we have learnt braking, various turns, striding equally with both legs (cos we tend to have a master leg as in right/left handers). Going under training wif diff instructors was pretty good as we learnt the diff skillsets even though its the same routine. So far most of them are pretty clear and patient.

Thinking of getting my own skates soon cos' the rented ones are really SMelly!! :P Most prob will drop by the shop to check out the skates this weekend. Looking forward to breezing my way around soon.
